project 64 controller not working

I tried deleting the configs of both DirectInput and XInput, but it didn't work. Problem is, it came with no CD for drivers or anything. I can’t see my character! The problem is that project 64 seems to not recognize my keyboard at all (yes the controller is plugged in box is checked and yes I know what I'm doing) None is the only controller in the game device section and if I try to change one of the default controls I end up mashing keys for 6 seconds to no effect. It is a 2-controller adapter made by Mayflash. Scoured google for a drivers download but can't even find a site for the company Retrolink. Any help would be greatly appreciated. My current controller plugin is N-Rage for PJ64: 2.5.2.202. It is recognized in the control panel as a generic controller but not by the software on my computer. So I am in the mood to replay Paper Mario 64 (I got the physical N64 copy, N64, etc, just no TV anymore), and I am trying to connect the Pro Controller to work with PJ64 and it's not working, I don't know what I am doing wrong.
